So my last entry ended with me taking a break from my search. So what I will tell you, is a little bit of the in between before my search started back up.

I stopped my search in I believe it was 2004. I was 21 and could drink and party! Hooray! But I didn't do too much of that at the time. Instead I decided I wanted to move to the beautiful Island of Oahu! Why Hawaii? Well I went once, after I graduated high school. It was actually my graduation gift from my mother. I went with my Sister in Law, and we had a blast! It was so beautiful and such a wonderful vibe there! So I had it set in my mind I wanted to move there!!

During that time the person I was with agreed and wanted to move to Hawaii too!! So we saved up for it, and in Dec 2005 we took the leap and got one way tickets to Hawaii!! I left LA, and was happy to leave it. Not happy to leave my friends, but to sort of leave the past behind and move on to a new beginning.

My transition to Hawaii wasn't too hard, it was some what smooth. Took us 2 months to find our own place, but we manged to get one, in Waikiki. If you've never been to Hawaii, you should know that Waikiki is one of the most touristy spots on the island. But our place was nice and not too noisy. Once we moved in, the next order of business was to find jobs! We both started off with a temp agency for jobs. One of those temp jobs lead to a full time position for me! And my other half, oh yea forgot to mention that bit of info, found a job working at Macy's. So let me pause here. Yes I was married at the time I moved to Hawaii. Ok moving on.

We worked, paid bills, made new friends, and had some great times together. Those times didn't last long, and our relation ship ended after two years of marriage. It was a rough break up. Mistakes happen, and it is what it is. We weren't meant to be, even though at the time, he was my high school sweet love and I swore I would grow old with him. You live and learn I guess. lol

I continued to work at the same job I had and even moved up in positions!! I also met 2 of my best friends from that job too! My co-workers and friends I made became my Family!

So what about my adoption search?? Was I going to start it back it up yet?? Will I ever start again? Well upon my relationship ending I needed to get a new social security card. Once I got it, that's where I discovered that I was born in Huntington Park. I was always told it was LA. But now I knew the real city, and not a district. Los Angeles is a big city! This new info did get me thinking. Perhaps I could find out more info my simply knowing the place I was born? So now I knew my birth name was something different, and I knew the city I was born in. I also knew the age I was adopted at, and a possible reason behind it, as well as my ethnicity.I even had a copy of my birth certificate. But was this all going to be enough to put the puzzle pieces together? Where do I start again? How do I get help again? I decided to try my luck again with another forum for adoptees on line. So I again posted, but this time I had a little bit more info to go by. I wasn't sure if it would actually be enough, but again I was hopeful. I got some replies asking if I knew my birth name, or an info on my bio parents name. I had the same answer as before. No. My birth certificate actually has my adoptive parents name listed on it. Apparently that certificate is an amended certificate. Which means it was changed once my adoption was completed, and my name change also. I was told I needed more info again. I needed to know my birth name and bio parents name. So again, I was left with no clues to my past. Well this was a let down again, and so I stopped again.

Life in Hawaii carried on as usual. I got me a second part time job got into a new relationship and eventually found a career I wanted to start. Cosmetology. I started the Cosmetology program at the Paul Mitchell School Honolulu.

It was such a fun experience and I even graduated a little early, I had to quit my part time job before starting school because I would be attending the night classes. So I worked full time during the day, and went to school at night. It was a great time! I learned so much and made some great friends! The relationship I was in when I started school, ended a little before I graduated from cosmetology school. So single life, work, school and partying became my life for a little bit of time. Even after graduating! lol I graduated and finished my program in November 2012. Right before my Birthday!

It was during my time at school that I learned about the Latin community in Hawaii and met more Latinos, mostly Puerto Ricans! Yesss! My peoples!! lol I learned how to dance Bachata, Merengue, and some Salsa. I went to the Latin nights at the clubs and danced the night away! It was so much fun and I felt so much love from the community too! I finally even had Puerto Rican food! Who would have thought, I'd eat my first Puerto Rican dish in Hawaii!! Of all places! lol I got a job working in a hair salon, doing what I loved, and even did free lance hair and makeup for photo shoots, fashion shows, parties, weddings, and other events. Discovered who my true friends where, made new ones and even faced some hard times trying to make it on my own. Life is never completely easy! I did what I had to do, and stayed strong. God had a plan for me. It was actually during this time that I met someone very special. The one who would eventually hold the key to my heart.
