So with Mothers Day quickly approaching, I realized that this will be the first year during Mothers Day that I actually can celebrate my MOM. Today, May 10th, in Mexican tradition is actually Mothers Day! So might as well celebrate it today also! I am a firm believer that mothers day however, should not just be recognized one day a year. We should celebrate her everyday, do nice things for all the time, surprise her with gifts whenever you can and shower her with love everyday! A mothers job is 24/7! But anyways, I'm getting off topic! lol

So anyways, I have celebrated Mothers Day plenty of times, with my adopted mother. And Now 3 times as a mother myself! This year I want to celebrate my biological mom. No mom is perfect, and we all have our flaws. We all go through rough times! I never got to experience the good and happy memorable times with my birth mom, so I asked my sisters to share some of their favorite memories with our mother. I wanted to hear each of their individual experiences. Because even siblings will have a different out look on their memorable times spent with a parent. What one thinks was a great time, the other may think other wise. I want to in a way see mom in their eyes for that happy time! Live the moment through them as they tell me their memories. I wanted to focus on the positive side of our mother.

I was told that one of her best times was of course when she was sober. She had her own place, and even had a job working at one of my favorite places, TARGET!! She was happy, understanding, and a first time Grandma! She enjoyed being a Grandma and doing things Grandmas do for their grandchildren. Spoiling them with gifts, love, hugs, spending time together, and being there. In a sense she was doing her best to make up for lost time with her own children. She was there when you needed her and she was doing good. There were slumber parties, laughs, game nights, movie nights, lunch out, and even shopping outings. There was even some dancing I hear! Apparently she loved to cook and was great at it! My sisters both rave about her cooking! Guess that explains where my good cooking comes from! lol

There's even some pictures to show some of the good memories spent with mom! I might not have gotten to know or meet you mom, and I know in your heart you only wanted the best for your children.

Here are some photos shared from my sisters of some of the good times with our mom. I definitely see happiness in her eyes in these pictures, in everyone actually. It was so great to hear about some of the laughs and good times they shared together. Some memories can't be captured in a picture, and instead they are engraved in our minds. I'm so thankful for my sisters and for them sharing such wonderful memories with me.
